We are thrilled to announce that Buccellato Design is joining forces with the renowned architecture firm G. P. Schafer Architect to become Schafer Buccellato Architects in September. This announcement marks the culmination of many months of thoughtful conversations and planning and the continuation of a twenty-year mentorship and friendship. It is also the start of an exciting new chapter for our firm, and in so many ways, a natural evolution of our practice.
It is also a reunion of sorts with the firm that launched our careers over twenty years ago when we left prestigious firms in New York City to join Gil in the early days of his practice. Aimee was Gil’s first employee at GPSA with Kevin following soon after. What was once a small and determined team soon grew into an award-winning AD100 firm with nearly 40 staff. It has brought us tremendous joy to see GPSA’s growth and success over the years, and it is that success — and the opportunity to grow it alongside Gil and our talented staffs — that brings us back together.
This union of talent and firms reinforces our shared values about the role of tradition in architecture and the belief that good architecture can both elevate and deepen the meaning of our lives and relationships. As part of combining our talented teams, Schafer Buccellato & Partners will operate with two offices, our existing offices in the Midwest and the headquarters on Union Square in New York City. We couldn’t be more thrilled about this next chapter.
